Waiting for a thought on Flickr.

I went to Greenpoint Brooklyn to meet my friend Alyssa for lunch and a drink. We had one of the best sandwich’s at this new spot that sadly I’ve forgotten the name. However I can certainly remember the taste of the sandwich…After lunch we went to this bar spot across from where I took this shot. It was still slightly early in the afternoon so it was just us and the bartender. The bar has these huge wall to wall windows with single panels a la the famous Rockwell “Nighthawks” painting. So you get a good view of the world as it moves on. The sun was particularly bright on this day and almost hung high from above to cast these great shadows. The intersection of the street is also very wide leaving plenty of room on my visual canvas.
I took several shots that day however the only one that I found to still stand out was this one. The women on the left sat there for what looked like an hour, I know cause I drank for about an hour. The bus came and went and so she wasn’t waiting for the bus. The man on the other side of her was just as compelling. They just seemed to be relaxing, one in the sun the other in the shade.
I live in my head a lot and till this shot have never given thought to how much more I’ve been living in my head the older I get. There’s a plenty of undiscovered land in my head for sure but in public I do try and live outside of it to observe.
If she’s in her head and he’s in his head, well…I suppose I need to be some where in the middle with my camera.
