Bike Garden
Cycling is very much part of the Dutch culture, so it’s very customary to see tons and tons of bicycles laying around. My first trip to Amsterdam I saw a crane lifting out 4 to 5 bikes that had been tossed into the canal, just seemed odd, you steal the bike, leave it where you get to, don’t just toss it into the canal. Bike + Beer = ?
This reminded me of a scene in the movie Pollack where he was riding his bike back to his studio with the crate upfront and he was trying to drink one while already drunk and riding one handed. Posted via email from onedrunkboy’s posterous | Comment »
Hotel Ibis
This was shot on my mancation trip from last year when we went to Amsterdam. The hotel is pretty much the center of this shot however, if you look closely at the walkway, the entire walkway is covered and littered with bicycles. There must have been over 5 thousand bikes just strewn all over the place Posted via email from onedrunkboy’s posterous | Comment »

the weekend that was
So, I like to go out once in a while; as you get older you kinda start feeling out of place, good thing I’m never really conscious of my age especially after a few drinks to start the night. what’s great about nyc is how accepting it is so you can just go ahead and do your thing without a care. I did a project a while back called “Documenting The Night”...

There are still a fair amount of abandoned buildings in Harlem. They’re almost like fossil records of a distant time. Posted via email from eye2nyc | Comment »

Kennedy Fried Chicken
When I moved up to Harlem from the West Village there was a significant change in my environment besides the majority of the people in Harlem being minority; there was also a change in food. I basically traded my pizzeria for fried chicken spot. I decided to go out and start documenting all the fried chicken spot I can find in Harlem, this is just one of them. More to come Posted via...

Camera + Coffee
I was really nervous to get this shot because my camera was acting really funny especially with the automatic focus. i didn’t want to disturb him and wanted to really capture it straight up, I think I got lucky. Shot in Harlem, 115th and Malcolm X. Kinda wished I had followed him to see where he was going to shoot. Posted via email from onedrunkboy’s posterous | Comment »...

The mysterious red curtain
Harlem is full of great architecture which all borrow their style from the dutch. There are countless buildings in the area of which I’ve only explored a few, this particular one is at corner where Malcolm X, Adam Clayton Powell Blvd and 116th intersect, goes without saying this area just 30 years ago was one of the most violent drug infested neighborhood here. American Gangster took place...

HDR of hogs and heifers
The idea for opening a bar and calling it Hogs & Heifers was conceived in, of all places, a bar. Allan Dell was a self-proclaimed functioning alcoholic and figured he spent enough time sitting at a bar and that he might as well make some money while he sat there. Allan’s two friends and drinking buddies were a Master Carpenter and a Graphic Design Artist and he talked them into helping...
John Thain at The Armory Show
Spotting your celebrities, in this case, I didn’t really know who he was till my friend pointed him out. Ever want to know what it feels to be around a person who makes 6 million dollars a year? Who is John Thain? He is the ex or as he is described these days, “scandalous” ex Ceo of Merrill Lynch. I may have a career as a paparazzi some day. Find out more here:...

The Hurt Locker, Oscar worthy? Really?
Finally saw the Hurt Locker over the weekend. It was a war movie marathon of sorts, I was hung over and my brain couldn’t really digest anything of complication except pure violence and destruction. I should have been out shooting the melting snow which blanketed central park in a canopy of forest beauty, but no, I was hung over. The first movie I saw was Black Hawk Down which I’d...
